Jackie Sakane has over 30 years of federal, State and local government grants management experience. For more than 22 years she worked in a high-level management position for the County of Los Angeles (County) and retired in July 2015 as the Compliance Officer over Department of Labor (DOL) and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) grant funded programs.
During 2005 to 2015, she had compliance oversight authority for 75+ local government, non-profit, and for-profit entities with allocated funds of over $500 million. In her tenure, no grant funds were ever returned to the County's funding sources and thereby eliminated liability to the County.
Her consulting services have been provided to local Workforce Development Boards (WDBs) in the State of California and State of Hawaii and she has provided services to one of the largest community foundations in California in their administration of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) grant funds through the United States Treasury, as well as to non-profits and for-profits with grant funds through the DHHS Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
She is a subject matter expert in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Title 2 CFR Part 200 Uniform Administrative Requirements, as well as a subject matter expert in major workforce programs that include the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). and also its predecessor program under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) where she implemented the County's One Stop delivery system.
Ms. Sakane has a financial/audit background and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting from California State University Dominguez Hills.
Based on her professional experience and upbringing in culturally diverse. marginalized and economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, Ms. Sakane understands the need for the services her clients provide. Her passion is to provide those organizations with what they need to be successful.
